Maximizing ROI on a 60-Mile Gas Pipeline Through Smart Design

CUE supported the design of a 60-mile, 1.2 BCF/d gas pipeline with 124,000 HP compression through a mid-sized city. Using Pipeflo simulation, we optimized pipeline specs and compression to align budget, routing, and ROI in a highly iterative design process.

Project Spotlight: Maximizing ROI on a 60-Mile Gas Pipeline Through Smart Design

Our client sought to install a 60-mile natural gas pipeline through a mid-sized city and along rail corridors, designed to transport up to 1.2 BCF/d with up to 124,000 HP of compression. CUE was engaged to optimize the system design for maximum ROI by refining pipeline diameter, wall thickness, material grade, and compression horsepower.

Given the scale and cost of the project, we supported an iterative design process to align performance, routing, and budget objectives. Using our in-house Schlumberger Pipeflo software, we conducted detailed multiphase simulations to validate the design and ensure efficiency at every step.
